Presented by Ms. Precious Madison
SPCHSAA-USA Business Meeting
September 5, 2026
Good afternoon, Mr. President, members of the Executive Committee, fellow alumni, and distinguished guests.
Following our last reunion in the Chicago area, we recognized the need to reactivate our committees and encourage greater participation among our members. At that time, several committees were either inactive or not fully established. We therefore made it a priority to strengthen the Association by organizing five key committees:
Website Committee
501(c)(3) Committee
Scholarship Committee
Benevolence Committee
Membership Committee
Some of these committees have already begun their work successfully, while others are still being organized. Nevertheless, activating all five committees remains a priority for the Association.
Our first general meeting was held in December and was very successful. During that meeting, we discussed ways to increase membership participation, strengthen the Association, and encourage members to become more actively involved in our programs and committees. Since then, we have held several productive meetings and made meaningful progress.
We also received a report regarding developments in Liberia. Through the efforts of our leadership, we helped facilitate a warm and respectful transition for Sister Grace as she concluded her service and prepared to return home. In recognition of her many years of dedicated service—and considering the personal losses she had experienced—the Association presented her with a small token of appreciation.
We understand the Association’s financial responsibilities and our ongoing commitment to raising funds to support our beloved alma mater. However, we believed it was appropriate to acknowledge Sister Grace’s service, sacrifice, and contributions.
Another major accomplishment was our Mother’s Day celebration. Members came together to organize a successful program honoring the mothers who have served as the backbone of their families, our alumni community, and St. Peter Claver High School. We celebrated their strength, sacrifices, guidance, and unwavering support.
Throughout the year, we also reached out to identify with and support members of our alumni family who experienced bereavement. These gestures reflect the spirit of compassion, unity, and fellowship that defines SPCHSAA-USA.
In closing, we are grateful for the progress we have made. Although there is still much work ahead, we are encouraged by the renewed participation and commitment of our members. As we continue strengthening our committees, expanding our membership, and supporting our alma mater, we ask everyone to remain involved and contribute wherever possible.
Together, we can continue building a stronger, more active, and more united SPCHSAA-USA.
Thank you.
